The Bayfield Farmers’ Market
The Bayfield Farmers’ Market is located in Clan Gregor Square. What’s unique about this market is that it features only truly locally grown food and products. None of the vendors’ wares are grown or produced more than 75km away and many of the vendors offer organic options!
As of spring 2016, the Bayfield Farmers’ Market is seeking to become a “Blue“ market! The Market vendors have agreed to ban the disposable plastic water bottle in favour of tap water (a water bottle refilling station is provided) and Blue Betty, the mobile water-station is in attendance on a regular basis offering tap water in compostable cups.
Blue Bayfield is working with the Market Administration to find an alternative to plastic shopping bags. Currently, to their credit, most shoppers bring along their own reusable bags.
Running every Friday afternoon from May to October the Market is popular with visitors stocking their cottage kitchens as well as with local residents seeking quality products.
